Denise Aldridge is a recently retired public school teacher with 48 years of experience at the high and middle school levels. She has taught Language Arts, Social Studies, and Child Care and Development. For the last five years, she has been the Middle School Literacy Coach for Dorchester County Public Schools. She has also served on several scholarship committees and is a founding member of the Willie J. Sydnor Scholarship Fund. She believes that teaching is a high calling because the influence of teachers extends beyond the classroom, well into the future. After all, education helps to provide opportunities for individuals to improve their lives and the lives of generations to come. Denise also serves as a Lay Leader in the United Methodist Church and is pursuing a license as a Lay Minister.
